The Extended wear lenses must be of soft contact lenses. The only rigid contact lenses you can sleep in the orthokeratology lenses. They are worn at night and not during the day.
Normal hard or gas permeable lenses can not sleep in the way it will cause eye damage

Hard lenses (are tough), rarely more than 10 or 12 hours use at a time.
